Who has it and what do think is best?
I have 100lb lab I think could benefit from it.
I have been looking into the undergeound fence....I will be doing an acre, but I have also been looking at just the collar with remote.
Does anyone has pros and cons for them?
Also if anyone has the underground fence...how do I get it under my cement driveway? Or do I have to bust my cement? Cause it's not worth it for me to do that.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I was looking into that kind as well...that has a radius....because we will be buying the land around our house eventually...do you know if you can change the radius on them?

we just installed Innotek underground for our pup 2 months ago LOVE IT! we got the "contain and train" version so u can utilize the same collar for remote training as well (we pheasant hunt) we looked at the wireless, but it only had a very small radius... the underground was not hard to install...it took a couple hours. I borrowed an edger (you only have to go 1-3 inches down) and did that around 2 acres in about 2 hours. The next day we went around and buried the wire. it is a nice system cause the collar "tones" a warning a few feet from the line to warn the dog.

Sam did you have to go under a driveway or anything? Like does it have to be a continuous circle? We're fine with small radius right now because our house sits on an acre we haven't bought the land around us yet. Thanks dusttapeacres.

I think we're going to do the underground fence. When I look at the difference in price...(even though it's more permanent))...but our acre isn't the same length as width.. Thanks for the help! Ducttapeacres that web site really helped! Thanks Again

We have an asphalt driveway and cut a groove in the drive with a special blade on our table saw. It did a nice job and then we covered that with some patching stuff that was in a tube. I really like our fence. We have over an acre done and we rented a powered lawn edger to put in the yard. Where the horse gates are we put it through conduit.

I have 3 family members that have the wireless "Petsafe" fence and have no problems with it. It only goes out so far but is a pretty large area around the house. One has a large bull headed lab mix, one has a boxer and one a golden. Works for them.

I got the fencing for my little dogs but it has yet to be installed. I wasn't sure how hard it was to bury the wire. I got 1,000 feet of wire so I can do a rather large area. Any volenteers? LOL

I was looking into getting the wireless petsafe one. I liked it better for the fact that one of my dogs is blind and it would keep her off the road. My other lab is a runner! Right now the oldfashion fence (4ft tall wire fence) seems to be working. But it they find a way out of that, I will be definately looking for a used or cheaper petsafe one on ebay. I've seen them on ebay new cheaper than on the company website. Also I've seen some on Craigslist for my area. Worth looking outside the company website.

I surf craigslist for them all the time and their hard to find in my area. But I luck out at TSC I have a family member that works there so I get a little bit of a discount.

My black lab used to take my aussie and run off with him all the time. But since she died he (I hope) just says on the property or just across the road. But unfortuatly my road is quite busy. My aussie responds to the training collar, we got it to teach him to go for walks with us in the woods so he wouldnt chase deer and such. I went to Redbird and they had an electric one for $300!!!! I thought about getting one off ebay but i have a fobia or buying electronic things off ebay and im afraid I will pay said amount of money and have it not work. Hope fully I will be able to get one by the end of the year.
