Color, breed, sex nor age specified. BUT we are looking for a free or cheap horse that needs a good home. Requirements thats ARE NOT negotiable, this horse must be broke broke broke, toddler proof, bomb proof broke. and it must have excellent ground manners.
My neighbors picked up a mule last fall, and they love her to death even though she is not a level they can handle. My farrier and I have been educating her, helping her get a handle on the mule, and they are making progress. Her son rides the mule while she leads him. they are looking for a horse for her to ride that she can pony the mule off of for her son.
So since she is a beginner, her son is a beginner, and they need a horse that they can lead the mule with... They want to ride 2-3 times a week down the dirt roads and through the fields.
They take good care of their animals, I live just down the road in sight distance and she listens to every thing suggested to her as far as worming, farrier, vaccinations, etc. She is a sponge and wants to learn.
Her husband won't let her just go out and buy a good horse, but if she can find a cheap or free horse he will agree. they grow their own hay, so care is not a problem, just convincing hubby that jsut because they can get an old broek down amish horse cheap that that is not exactly what they need.
So if anyone knows of someone that has a good horse just sitting out in their pasture that might fit this bill that they want o place in a very loving home, let me know. The horse will have a job, so nothing that has leg problems or limits on riding would be ideal.
And the best part, is that you can keep tabs on it through me. I will gladly keep you posted.
