General Manager Position
The Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association is a trade association representing approximately 1,500 harness horse owners, drivers/trainers, and breeders in our state. We are seeking a General Manager, for our home office in Okemos, to implement and direct association activities. Duties will include administering policies set forth by the Board of Directors, recordkeeping for pari-mutuel purse pool accounts, ensuring member services, and administering state colt stakes programs. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a basic knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency in a variety of software with concentration on Excel spreadsheets, and strong analytical and organizational skills. Horse industry background, marketing experience, or experience dealing with legislative matters would be beneficial. Salary is negotiable.
