Hello! I'm going to try and make this brief, adding details later as I'm running late for an appointment.
In the fall, the West Michigan Arabian Horse Association holds a Fall Classic breed show at the Ingham County fairgrounds. Usually they also include an unrated speed show. Last year we couldn't hold this show due to lack of sponsors and the Millbrooks bankruptcy.
We'd love to offer this mini show again because many of the riders enjoyed the fun riding and many spectators loved a change of dicipline.
The speed classes are open to any registered arabian or half arabian. We may try to push to include arabian/half arab classes and just stock horse classes, to increase entries.
These classes are divided into age groups (can't remember which ones right now) and are come when you can. Instead of being called in an order, we leave barrels open from lets say 10 am to noon, available for practice runs and your money run.
The classes are payback, which is where the sponsors come in. Without enough sponsors, we cannot have the payback style awards. Entries alone don't make the payback large enough. When I rode the first year it was held, I earned well over $100 for two seconds and a third, only three classes. That payed my entries ($10) practice runs ($3) and gas/boarding while I was there.
I do have pictures to include later, and much more information.
If you are interested in the show at all, please PM me. If you think you may be able to sponsor any amount of money towards a class, please PM me with the amount and your contact information. We're trying to bring this show back to the Classic and they told us we need sponsors and/or pre entries for them to consider.
Thank you for reading.
