SIGN-IN
Rider’s age as of 5-9-09.
Riders may switch horses for events.
1 ride per exhibitor/per event/per show toward placings/hi-point
Stallions allowed for riders 18 years & older – must be well behaved
Entry fees paid in advance. No post-dated checks. Riders responsible for NSF Check Charges, including entry fees, bank charges, and fines ($25/check).
COMPETITION/GROUND RULES
Judge’s ruling final.
Shows run in the outdoor arena – Rain or Shine.
Electronic timer will be used; hand held timers will be used if the electronic timer malfunctions.
Parent or Guardian must be in arena with 8 & under rider at all times. 8 & Under Riders: Lead Line allowed, may ride alone or with parent/guardian – riders not placed.
Parents are responsible for the actions/supervision of their minor children.
Riders must wear western boots or equivalent with heels.
Approved helmets strongly recommended.
Dismount before leaving the arena.
No running horses outside of arenas.
No stirrup bindings allowed.
No schooling of horses anywhere on the grounds.
All dogs must be leashed.
No tying horses to arena fences.
Cruelty to animals will not be tolerated.
No-times: Loss of forward motion, breaking the set pattern, competition rule violations, falling off your horse before completion of event.
Penalties: 5 seconds added for each barrel, pole, keg or cone knocked over.
Re-rides: In case of a timer malfunction or broken tack (called before leaving the arena), the rider has the option to re-ride immediately or at the end of the event. If the second time produces a no-time, the rider has the option for a third and final re-ride.
LIABILITY/LOSS OF PROPERTY
The Flying V Arena, LLC, its agents and volunteers are not responsible for accidents, injuries or loss of property. Each rider should be aware of and understand the Equine Liability Act, which states: “Under the Michigan Equine Activity Liability Act, an Equine Professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of the equine activity (PA 351 of 1994)”. Michigan Equine Activity Liability Act signs are clearly posted at the Flying V Arena, LLC. A SIGNED LIABILITY RELEASE FORM MUST BE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND SIGNED BY ALL RIDERS. PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGNATURE REQUIRED FOR RIDERS UNDER AGE 18.
