I know there are some well informed people in this area. We just bought a new TV maybe three months ago. The salesman said that it would be fine on our rather new roof antenna. I get all the extra channels but now have lost channels 18 and 23. When the run the tests my new HDTV is said to not be ready. Why?
Now we got one of those boxes to put on the old tv and we can't get it to work at all. What could be wrong?

Ha, my Tim calls this the biggest scam to get us to spend $ ever, LOL. First we get the converter boxes (and we got ours early so the ones we got aren't that good just ended up buying different ones after researching a ton to find out what was the best). Ok that was fine but then HD signals are not as strong as analog soooo after talking with radio shack and some hotline has to buy an antenna that will reach out further since we are in the boonies. That still isnt' goog enough so have to add a signal booster to that. Yep and while we get a couple extra channels we don't get 23 anymore either. Not it may be that 23 hasn't changed over to HD yet since it is public access? We are lucky to get 5 or 6 channels at all. So much for HD being so much better so far it has just cost us more $ and more $. At my place i have one of the round antennas and have only added the box haven't added a signal booster or anything and get just as many channels as he does at his place with all his goodies. I know not much help but might give you some ideas I dunno.

I have not switched over yet. I just got my coupons in the mail, but we have a dish and don't really watch that much tv, except news for 10 min in the AM. Will have to see how it all works down here.
