I have 2 older horses that I have blanketed this winter. Today and tomorrow are supposed to get up above 30 so I was going to pull the blankets and wash them. Do you think they will be ok while I do this? They do have a little winter coat under because I did not blanket them till they showed sign of cold stress. Shivering and weight loss. Thanks so much Tina

I would think it should be ok, as long as you have them back on before night fall. I blanketed my mares last year and I pulled them on the warmer days. Silly mares went and rolled like crazy in the snow!

I think they'll be fine. I took my horses blankies off today, too. It's not supposed to be very cold tonight or tomorrow, so they'll get a nice break. Then they'll go back on tomorrow evening because it's supposed to get BITTER again.

If you did it today, then you're probably fine. I wouldn't do it tomorrow--the thermometer temp may be higher but the wind chill is way, way lower (18 degrees where I am).

Yep your ok. I do this with my older horse when the days are warmer. I brush him really well and then leave the blanket off to let his skin breathe
