Hi there Karen!! It's cold and miserable down here in no man's land!! We've gotten another 2" of snow to go along with the 12+ that we already had. Now there calling for the winds to start picking up The horses are loving it, just running and playing. Makes it hard to do the chores, but we manage! Basically been hybernating to keep warm! Hi there Tammy Yep Bitter bitter cold here too. I am busy here at home with the kids, the TreasuredTails Horsehair orders, just got a very interesting order too, lady's mom lost her horse and she saved some tail hair and the daughter ordered a Small DreamCatcher for her mom, and also sent Peacock feathers from her mom's prized peacock to make the DreamCatcher even more special, should be very pretty when I get that one done. Have not been out to see our horses much with this bitter cold and the fact we have no heat in the van, and it wants to over heat if we go too far so we go only out for basic stuff at this point.
I put my order in for Spring back in December when we started getting slammed with snow..... Does anyone know how to check on the status of that order??? LOL

HI everbody, sorry its so cold up there for ya. I will say that the temps are unusally cold down here too. The water tower in town ran water all nite to make sure it didn't freeze. We thought that was odd, but they are not used to cold down here. We are glad we had running water this morning and hope we do tmr too. Tonite is supposed to be the coldest night temp in years! Luke is going to wrap the spigots today too, if he can find the time to get to town and get that done. If there is any supplies left. You know how people panic, buy everything in sight! hehe I hope you all get a really early warm spring this year. You deserve it! We've been so busy with our store, getting the property we rented ready to live on and ready for our animals. We still need to buy some gates and get some fence up for the dogs, patch some of the horse fence. But all that can wait til the animals are here, since they have my temp fence supplies. Oh I can't wait. They are supposed to leave tmr, if the roads are safe and they get in the truck and just go. My parents are afraid the cold will be too much for the horses in the trailer. They covered the sides on the stock trailer and the horses have winter blankets with windproof sheets and neckwraps, plus full winter fur coats! I don't think they are going to freeze in the trailer!

Hey everyone, actually daycare keeping me pretty busy, and keeping us all indoors. Crazy cold here too. I love living on Lake michigan, but right now I would give it up for a few warm days...Any riding is put on hold til it warms up!!! I am actually excited it is going to be in the 20's next week, and hopefully only snow, no more ice!!!

I guess I should be careful what I wish for as in moderating temps..tomorrow is supposed to get above 10 but we are under a winter storm watch with 8" of snow plus high winds :-/We had 26 below without the wind chill here real early this morning..horses stayed in the barn until afternoon then we turned them out to clean stalls.Boy!!They were real happy to run and buck and play even in the frigid wind chills..winds have calmed down so they are out tonite with lots of hay and do have the run ins. They will come back in tomorrow for the duration of this next storm.Stay warm everyone!!! I'm thinking of green grass and dusty trails Appy Trails Jan
