Ok, since I'm new to 4H, I was wondering what kind of fundraisers groups do. Our group that we just joined was looking for ideas and I thought I might ask and see what you all have done. Thanks.

We are going in with another small club and having a horse show. The whole county is having an auction of all of the clubs' donated material. The kids go to business and so on for certificates for servies or other types of gift/certificates.

How about a general swap meet where anyone can bring what ever they want to sell or trade. Charge for tables and maybe have hotdogs, pop and chips to sell.

you can have a big dinner with chili or something similiar. Charge per person. Not sure what the laws are about this, but like the VFWs do it so probably not too hard?

To bad you are so far away. My sister makes jams and jellies....state inspected and licensed...that she would be willing to work with a 4H group for a fund raiser. She lives in the Coldwater area.

When I had my group we did a Little Ceasars Pizza kit fundraiser. We made lots of money but it is a lot of work to deliver all the kits.

snowyhorse- she has always gone out and picked the black raspberries/blackberries and made jelly for her family and for gifts. When her youngest moved out she decided she would turn his room into a kitchen and do them for sale. Went as far as to get her kitchen and stuff state inspected/liscensed. She named it The Berry Patch and makes strawberry, spiced peach, black and red raspberry, black berry, elderberry, cherry, and I think some apple butter. If you or anyone else is interested in getting in touch with her for a fund raiser email me and I can get the info to her. starlite98804@hotmail.com I know for a first time she wouldn't want to try to many at a time but I am pretty sure she would work with at least one club. Not sure but what they wouldn't make almost $1 for each jar they sell....16 ounce jar sells for $4. Her jelly is DELICIOUS!!
