Since the one that is here is not working here is a chat room on off site area
You need to create a passport account here first

You will be sent a verification email...
when you get this verify the code and enter your MEL name in the nickname box so when you chat we will know who you are .... also if your name is not available add few numbers after it.
Nicknames can be changed by clicking the People and Chat tab at top of page and then on the left panel on side there is My nickname.. click then change and save....
the same side panel also has other aspects of the site you can change
This site is not just for chat you can blog, create your own chat room, you also have your own personal page (spacedom) storage space etc.......
