FYI ... Southern MI is starting to see more and more cases... Please watch your horses... The earlier it is caught the higher the survival rate. Watch for lethargy, loss of appetite. Diarrhea is only present in about 50% of cases. Also keep an eye out for dehidration. If you feel something is off with your horse, get him checked out. I have a friend battling it now. keep your horses sprayed for bugs. If possible keep them in during the evening and early morning hours.... Use a premise spray to keep mosquitos down. This will also help keep West Nile away. Potomic cannot be transferred to humans or horse to horse.
