Hi everyone, I am in search of a 16in western saddle. I want to use it for trail riding, reining/penning type work etc.. I would prefer a good used saddle as opposed to a cheap new saddle, problem is I am not all that familiar with brands. I know Circle Y, Crates etc but there are so many brands out there and I don't know their quality. I would love to hear from some of you on your experience with different brands of saddles.
Also I ride an arabian that is somewhat flat/short backed. I have been riding him in an old Circle Y Equitation saddle that I dearly love but as my horse ages his back has narrowed and the saddle is a wide tree and sits down on his withers too much. Sooo if you know of anyone looking for a great old Circle Y I have a good one! LOL ;D

Hey were in the market for a circle y - um cheaper the better (you know that was coming) anyways, hubby has decided to go back to a leather saddle from his synthetic - 16 inch is just what were looking for - hard to fit horse though so here's what I need - 7 inch gullet and 6 inches just above the gullet just before the cantle area - any pics? or how about a picture with a tape measure in front of it so I can see just what is what and price. Also I don't know if your a member on midwest Horse Community but CH on there always has some nice saddles and he has a really nice Simco right now 16 inch. Worth a shot -
