Sale pending on my gelding! My friend has a VERY nice red dun mare for sale that was used as a kids lesson horse for years, and then my friend bought her to help him get back into riding after having a stroke. He has no use of his left arm and very little use of his left leg, and he can ride her with no problem. She is one of the most forgiving horse I have ever seen and would be awesome for a kid. She is an easy keeper. He's asking $1000 for her.

Misty, How old is this mare? I am looking for something Safe for my 6 year old grand daughter. Gretchen is getting big & doing great! She listens very well, Knows sit, down, stay, comes when called. She likes to go out to the barn & for rides in the truck. She got a pink john deere collar & leash :} Her & Daisy (Blue Heeler) are best friends. Thanks again;}

Mike says she is 16 or 17 years old.
He had a stroke 5 years ago and lost the use of his left arm and has limited use of his left leg. He bought this mare to get back into riding. She is the MOST tolerant horse I have ever seen. lol She puts up with crap from him that my mare would bounce him on his butt for. lol He can ride her in a rope halter and lead rope, a bosal, or a bit (but that is almost impossible for him to put on since he has no use of his left arm). She is more spirited with a hackamore, so may have been used for speed in 4-H back when she was shown by kids.
I am so happy that Gretchen is getting along good and you seem very happy with her. We miss her bad...she is such a character.

Where is the dun mare located at? She is located about 40 miles west of Saginaw in the small town of Marion Springs.
