How many of you would be interested in a 3-on-3 horse soccer tournament? The youth ranch that I volunteer for is considering hosting a horse soccer tournament as a fundraiser and we're trying to determine the interest in it. Four of us volunteers played today and had a blast, laughing so hard at times that we had to stop and catch our breath.
The ranch is Narrow Gate Youth Ranch (www.ngyr.org) and is located in Chase, MI.

When I was a kid in 4-H we played BROOM POLO on horseback. We went house to house in Greenville for the better part of a month to get enough brooms. We took corn brooms and cut the bristles off at the first string and then duct taped them and drilled a whole in the handle to put a string through to put around your wrist so you wouldn't loose your broom and for the ball we used a soccer or volleyball. What a blast. Some other parents and I brought it back when my kids were in 4-H about their teen years.

well, I am near Greenville, maybe we can start our own horse soccar league around here!!!! or broom polo!! but sounds easier if I don't have to hold a broom and try to steer my horse!!! I am probably not that coordinated!!! LOL!!!! soooo much easier to just let the horse push a big ball around!!!

Broom polo is a blast! You definately need to be able to steer one handed though. Oh and have a horse that isn't paranoid of the broom and ball! LOL! I used to play with Sept, she didn't like that, but seh tried.
