Truthfully, you're not going to please everyone, so just set up a poll with the best options, let everyone have the opportunity to vote, and proceed from there ... or simply make a joint managerial decision to whatever platform suits your needs the best.
You'll lose some members and you'll gain some new ones, it's inevitable.
I bet a lot of the non-forum reference type pages can be recreated on Squidoo, which is not only free and easy but pays the webmaster based on click-thru ads.
