I finally bit the bullet and gelded my 11 yr old stallion. The vet was awesome, and all is well. I am so excited! I'm interested to see if there is any attitude change. He has always been calm and easy going, just to see if that all remains.

Oh wow. Is this your black/ dark brown stallion? I vaguely remember your stallion being posted on the old MEL years ago.

Yuppers...he is all black. He is a TimeTo Get Tuff son and a Lucks Chic Gay Grandson. He certainly has some great bloodlines. The horse market just isn't what it use to be and I don't think it's going to be the same for quite a while.

My Dad and my hubby don't think I was very nice by having him gelded. But it doesn't seem to affect Tuff. He is out trotting and cantering, and I have been taking him out for his daily exercise. He is doing great....and some how I think he is thanking me too.
Thanks barebackjumper, I think more people need to be responsible with their stallions. I figure he didn't breed a lot of mares so no point in keeping him all in tact. That's also why I posted on here earlier about the Stallions to Geldings Organization for those people that can't afford to geld their stallions....it's just a way of helping with the cost and the economy.
