Woke this morning to a sight I pray no one ever has to see. A horse standing with front leg swaying no natural movement what so ever. Somehow overnight in a pasture he has lived in most of his life Haziz must have found a hard frozen mud socket and snapped his left front foreleg about 8 inches above the knee. There was nothing I could do for him but call the neighbor to come and take away his pain ASAP. TY to my neighbor Roberta's husband Jim for being able to do the thing I could not bear to do.
Haziz will no longer run across the fields of Hazi Acres, he now will be forever free from pain and eternally youthful galloping with his tail flagged out behind him upon the lush grasses of Fiddlers Green.
Those of you who ever had the pleasure to meet him in the flesh know what a gentle wonderful spirit he had so kind, so graceful so noble and so proud. He will be and already is sorely missed.
May he guide his fillies to a more gentle willing nature from the next realm.
In sorrow and heartbreak one life tired old puddy tat.

I Am Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me,
I nuzzled his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
to gallop, to graze, to buck, or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A partnership shared, a nicker, a nuzzle,
ah yes, these things are part of lifes puzzle.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunrise of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much:
good food, good rides, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now, he set me free.
