As some of you know I got a new pony a short time back that needed a new home. Said he rides and drives so of course I got in line as providing him a new home.
I have had him out twice driving so far and he is doing very well. Needs some help in making some shorter turns but other than that is doing good. No one has tried to ride him as yet but maybe soon. I would like to know how well he rides. My daughter is smaller than I am so she is willing to give him a try when she has the time.
Next I want to harness up the Pintaloosa that just went for harness training this past fall. The new harness I tood to the trainer was complete but when I got it back the britchen straps are missing and also had a broken buckle. No wonder the trainer didn't use my harness on his cart. Said it wouldn't work. I have someone working on making the replacement parts and putting on a new buckle. Also he is making extenders for the small pony harness so I can use the breast collar on my cart. The shafts are to long but instead of getting shorter shafts I'm doing the extension.
One day when it is really nice I would like to go to Stockbridge for a nice long drive. The roads here are way to stony to take very long drives. Pony got one little chip in he hind hoof so he has tough feet. Just don't want to make him sore from to many stones on the road.

I can't put pictures on here, don't know how. We did try him for riding last night and it didn't go well. He seemed very unsure of having a saddle and rider on his back. So just ended it right there and will just drive him. It may be that he has only had small kids on his back but he wasn't very happy with 110 pounds on his back. Just figure I will only drive him anyway so why go any farther. He is a very sweet pony and does drive nice.
As soon as I have Spirit going well on the cart he will go to live with Martha. The pony she had for her father to drive has a problem with the hind legs, I thing it was she said, so some time this summer her dad will have another pony for driving.
