Even up here in the north my 3 are shedding...longer days.I could get bushels of hair from them ;)And glad to see mud as we have had a very hard cold winter up here with tons of snow and -30s weather and we still have snow in the woods and trails up here near Houghton Lake.So bring on the mud ;D appy Trails Jan

You're kidding, right?! I could spin skeins of yarn for several hundred miles with all the hair coming off the horses! Too cold to bathe them so have to brush dirty horses-yuk!

Even up in the UP everyone is shedding. Well, not everyone. My mini isn't even starting to shed yet. My mare is another story. She is a blue roan who turns black in the winter. I went out and brushed her yesterday, I had a multicolor horse. She was black on one side and blue on the other. I wish I would have had a camera handy. I did do the other side, so now she is just blue. I have piles of hair in their yard and more to come off of her.

My horses have started shedding but the mule will not let loose of hers until she knows it isn't going to snow anymore. I head snow is in the forcast for next week. ICK!!!!!!!!! Mules seem to shed later than horses and start winter growth sooner as well.

Note to self-------you can no longer put lip gloss on prior to going to the barn!!! Last time I went I didn't realize the hair would be coming off the horses and onto my lips!!

Mine are shedding too. I got a chance to brush my Appy and he is getting more spots! I love the way they do that! ;D
