My father has had a third major back surgery, and has had some nerve damage, plus some other complications with this last one. He did his recouperation and physical therapy at the nursing home, but he is now home, and I was wondering if I could talk with someone on what kind of PT he could do at home to help him strengthen his legs and knees. If you could email me privately, I will go more in depth. tam @ locl .net take out spaces.
Thanks for any help. T.

I am surprised they did not send him home with stretches and excercises to do? I do medical massage therapy (my instructor was a physical therapist, so learned alot of this as well) I would recommend having a professional come in (referral thru Dr?) and demonstrate the exercises and observe him while he performs them.... always remember with stretching...do not take the stretch too far..only until feel gentle tension, if you take it too far the muscle will contract to protect itself (the opposite of what you are trying to occomplish) and with PT....no pain/no gain is NOT the goal. it is awesome that you are helping Dad, may he have a speedy recovery
