Thanks for the link, Matt. It's nice to put horses' names to their pics.

I've been following this case. It's a tragic thing what AC is doing over there. Seems that AC's in many areas are on a power trip! I think a hanging is in order. I feel that this is theivery! Shame on them! I need to watch out because I have Lake Feces in my pasture right now as well as horse poo all over the pasture! The horses have been outside all day in the rain, even though they have stalls! They are also covered in mud!! I bet it won't be long before AC is at our door to take my horses away!! According to the standards of the Chicago AC, I'm a criminal!

I agree. Those horses look great! And their "makeshift" barn...they should price out one of them domes...their not "makeshift" prices.

I hear you on "Lake Feces" ... most of the time, the ground can handle the amount of rain we get, but during heavy rains or snow melts we get some pretty awful poop ponds.

The other part that I'm sure I would be skinned alive by AC for is that the horses have been DRINKING out of it!! I have fresh, clean water in the barn but they CHOOSE to drink out of the 'lake'! My DH was the one who told me when I voiced my concern about them not drinking enough water and that I was worried. He said, 'I wouldn't worry, I see them drink out of the poo lake all the time'!

Yep, I'm sure AC would have you for that, that's one of the main reasons the Michigan Court of Appeals cited for agreeing with the seizure of Matt & Jim's horses ... they were drinking dirty water from a drain (when I was young our horses drank from a drain all the time, it was the only water source in winter) and of course we know creeks and lakes aren't clean!!

I wonder what they think of how wild horses survive? Outside without any shelter other then trees. Drinking from a poo pond or from, and yes I have seen this on tv, a water source that had a deceased horse in it. I dont get it they slap the people on the hands for a emaciated horse but go after the one that are fine.
