2nd Annual Ladies Camping Weekend

Due to this being held on Memorial Day Weekend this year, we would like to include spouses and kids! We started this as a way for the women riders to bond and share some time away from the family with just friends. I'll have to decide if, in the years to come, we'll keep the L in the LCW or not.
We had a very successful first year with the Ladies Camping Weekend, we're going to do it again! It was a blast!! Many MEL members as well as from the forum where we organize it from. For the date, all the details and to RSVP, visit:

We are having our 2nd Ladies Camping Weekend (LCW) at Ionia Recreation Area May 22-24. We're deciding on whether to use the organizational campground or just get sites together. Will post what we decide. We'd like to all camp near each other. Last year was a total success and amazingly fun! We have potluck style breakfast and dinner. You can either bring a dish to pass or something to cook for each day. It saved everyone quite a bit of $$ by doing that and it was so much fun to have our meals together! Most of us brought firewood to contribute and we had our fire at one camp site and all shared in the festivities. It is a great way to meet your fellow forum members, ride, share stories and connect with other horse women. There were all sorts of riding levels, a fast paced group and a slow group too. Something for everyone. If you want to come out to ride with us for the day, that's fine too! If you decide you want to follow the information as it is posted, you can join the group in the link in my first post. I will add information here as I get it.
Lots of MEL members on the other board too. Not trying to take anyone away from here by any means. Hope to see you at the LCW 2009!

I will keep you all informed! Just to let you know, the campground is filling up fast! WR and I are on site 45 and the ones all around us are taken but I know sites 46 and 48 are still available. If you're coming, grab one! It's Memorial Day weekend so it will be full! Also, it's potluck so bring something for breakfast and dinner to share or cook on the grill or stove top. We had so much food last year that I didn't eat lunch, just had a snack between or was out riding. You're responsible for your own drinks. Glad you can make it! Can't wait to see you again!

There are only 6 sites left as of today for that weekend (Memorial Day weekend).
