I have a 5 day vacation coming up July 30th through August 3rd.....we are thinking of driving up to our cabin in White Cloud on the evening of July 29th......spending the night and then driving on up to Frederic on the morning of the 30th. There is primitive camping at Goose Creek or full hook-up camping at Happi Days Campground & Diner. Anyone interested in camping and riding at Goose Creek at the end of this month? From Goose Creek you can ride into Frederic and eat the famous Wet Buritoes at the bar.....they have a corral out back that you put your horse in and tie to the rail. You can also ride to the Happi Days Diner and they have picket lines up to tie your horse.........I hear they have a great breakfast! Here is some info on Happi Days Campground and Diner: Happi Days Campground in Frederic Michiigan is open to accomadate Horse camping. We are located directly on the Shore to Shore trail. We have 40 sites with Electric/Water, Full Bathouse with showers,50's style diner and a cool camp store with all the goodies.I-75 Exit 264 Frederic, left into town at light make left 1 1/2 miles on right. www.happidayscampground.com Note: they do not have picket poles at the campground but you are allowed to run lines between the trees.......so you would need to bring your tree savers. Anyone interested? ??

Happi Days Diner & Campground is throwing out the "Red Carpet" with a warm welcome to the horse riders...........I'm going to copy some of their comments and post here for all to read: Happicamper posted: Hello Bit of Gold Paints, you need to get your group together and camp at Happi Days at the end of the month and Ride to Goose Creek and back. Then you can eat and even take a nice Hot Shower when you get back. We look forward to meeting you guys and will have the food ready !!! We have 20 sites that are pull throught with full Electric and water and both semi shaded and full shade. We have 10 sites that are back in and have electric only and water available from the sites across the road. Every site comes with a picnic table and a fire ring. We dont have picket line poles yet but there are many trees to accomadate lines. I do have an area for guess to park and ride...the cost is $ 5 aday to park and $ 4 for a shower if they like when they are done.Check in is at 11 am and check out is 3 or 4 pm not a problem. Our normal price for Electric and water is 25 $ a night and I have offered all horse people $ 20 a night and of course this includes the bathhouse and a Hot Shower !!! If they want to pull in and not use power its $ 16 A night. I am in the process of laying out trails in our area of 5-8-and 12 miles in length and loops to tie into the Shore to Shore trail. With the closing of Goose Creek and being moved....I think there is a need to help accomadate Hores riders and groups in our area for all the things they have had taken away. If any one would like to call me directly to get the latest information on the Closing of Goose Creek plese do at 1-989-390-2155. I went to a meeting three weeks ago and a DNR official was present and had details about the new campground. Its to may details to post.....but if wanted I can do. Thank you everyone....and look forward to seeing what Happi Days can do long term to help horse groups like yourself !!! one more thing.....please go to www.horsetraildirectory.com There are a few reviews of people and groups that have stayed with us.....just for your info....thank you

Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are.................Where's all those Northern Trail Riders??? Those who keep wishing there was an organized group trail ride in their area??? This could be our last chance to get a group ride going at Goose Creek before it's closed or moved!!!
