I've only done a very limited amount of sewing before and I finally decided I'd start trying to make equestrian clothing. So far I have half a saddle seat suit, a sleezy, and now a dickie. What do you think? I had to use what I could from a costume pattern and just went with the flow for the rest. I need to finish the front to give it the shirt look and add velcro on the back. I brain farted when I was sewing on the collar piece, I didn't leave a hole to flip it right side out. So I had to compramise and cut open the bottom and stitch a cute little pattern on the bottom, unseen when the hunt coat is worn. Do you think I'd be able to make some to sell? Would anyone like one made? Material is cheap, if I could sell them, I'd go $7, which beats the others who sell for $20+. If I can master monogramming I'd like to be able to make dickies with monogrammed collars, popular in the hunter ring. If you did hunt, would you buy one for $7? I'd be able to make them from colors you pick, I got mine at wal mart. If you're not sure what a dickie is for, it's to wear under a hunt coat in place of a shirt. Usually you would wear it over a tank top or a light cotton shirt, for comfort. Then you won't get it dirty while you're not in the arena.
